Beautiful Vacation turned into Unexpected Engagement in Ho Chi Minh city, Viet Nam



I am so Excited to finally share these photos, and it’s with good reason!!! I had the privilege of capturing Austin and Khanh's beautiful proposal in Ho Chi Minh city. Khanh and Austin knew each other from working together as radiation therapists at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. As a couple who works together in a demanding field, Khanh and Austin share a strong bond and understanding of each other's work and the challenges they face in their profession. The trip to Vietnam was intended to be a relaxing vacation, allowing them to visit family and reconnect with their cultural roots. However, this little vacation turned out to be even more memorable than Khanh could have ever imagined when Austin surprised her with a proposal.

Before going on the trip, Austin reached out to me about his proposal idea knowing that I was going to be in Viet Nam at the same time for my own little vacation/work. Khanh was born in Viet Nam, a country that is beautiful and diverse with a rich cultural heritage that is deeply rooted in family values. Knowing Khanh would be surrounded with her friends and family, Austin decided this was the best opportunity to propose. The unexpected proposal came as a surprise to Khanh, adding an extra layer of excitement and joy to their trip. The fact that Austin planned such a meaningful gesture in their home country, surrounded by her family, would have made the moment more special for Khanh.

Their commitment to each other and passion for helping others is a testament to their dedication and compassion. As they continue to grow both personally and professionally, their relationship and their work will  continue to inspire and uplift those around them.

Pieces of Advice

A proposal is an important moment in a couple's relationship, and documenting it can be a meaningful way to preserve the memory and share it with others. Capturing the proposal allows the couple to look back on the event and relive the excitement and emotions of the moment. It also provides a tangible record of the couple's love story that they can share with friends and family. So PLEASE! make sure that you have someone to capture this special moment because a once in a life time event should be captured and treasured forever
