I have been DYING to share these photos, and it’s with good reason!!! I had the privilege of capturing Ashley and Ivan’s beautiful anniversary at Lake Conroe, TX over the weekend. A few weeks ago, my good friend and colleague, Ashley reached out to me about photographing her upcoming anniversary. We initially planned to get themed photos at the Fall Pumpkin Patch at P6 farm. The farm was beautiful and we would have gotten plenty of amazing photos there. However, the farm closed off the gate at 5pm and my couple arrived 15 minutes late and were not allowed to come in. Needless to say, from the lemons we were dealt, we made lemonade and quickly decided to go to a nearby lake for some dreamy golden hour photos. The thing about golden hour is that it doesn't last very long, typically about 30 minutes. Thankfully, a good photographer always has a couple of beautiful places in mind as backup options. I took the couple on a quick drive to Lake Conroe where we came across a beautiful dock and some nice rocks across the shore. Our session only lasted 20 minutes before the sun completely faded away into the horizon. Luckily, Ashley and Ivan were so comfortable in front of camera despite them saying otherwise. The couple were fully emerged in the moment and I just fired away with the shutter button.
You think that was the only session we did? Of course not, the couple came back for a second round the weekend after since we only had 20 minutes at the first photoshoot. This time, my couple wanted to have an open field area, so I suggested East End Park located in Kingwood, Texas. We had plenty of time at this location, so we were able to come up with variety of poses.
Photographer's Thoughts
I was so honored when Ashley and Ivan reached out to have me capture their special moments. Knowing Ashley for years and seeing how much she's grown, I'm just so proud of my girl to see that she has finally found her ultimate happiness. No one has ever made her smile as much as Ivan has and this is the kind of true love everyone should be striving for themselves.
Pieces of Advice
Find you a partner that loves to do what you love and life would be so meaningful with them by your side. If you're planning on having a photo session together, make sure to focus your attention on your partner and NOT the camera. True love isn't meant to be hidden, and it definitely shows. After all, candid shots are so much more fun!
